Just recently I’ve told you all a bit about how my 2022 has been and what I’ve done so far in the short time since I began publishing my music in June 2022.
Now it’s time to gaze upon what’s next up ahead.
New Album
My third album “Sins of Tomorrow” is done, mixed and ready to go live. As its release date I’ve chosen 05.03.2023. I’ve set up a landing page for it with a countdown. It features 10 completely new tracks and may just be my most synthwave-y album just yet. Obviously, it wouldn’t be me, if I hadn’t put my very own twist on it, so while you’ll definitely get the synthwave vibe right away, there’s a whole lot more to it and a lot of “badidol” in it. One could say, I’ve found my signature sound. Heavy on the low end and a good portion of “oomph”? That’s a badidol, alright!

New Singles
I also have a bunch of singles ready to go already. With Hindsight, I want to believe, Departure, The Race, Trevor 597 and And We’re Going there are 6 singles ready to release, mixed and all. They’re following this new signature sound: deep, heave on the low ends, a good amount of oomph. And who knows…that’s just, what I got already. Who knows, what I’ll still come up with? The year has just begun! 😉
I’ve compiled a little sneak preview containing 5 of the finished singles. 2023 is going to be loud!
Reviews
My fellow artists over at elXaR Productions regularly provide reviews of other artists’ albums/tracks and I’ve wondered, whether I should do that, too. I often, when asked by fellow artists, provide feedback to their tracks and why not make a habit out of it and review stuff, like elXaR do? Let’s face it, as a music artist I’d otherwise be hard put to find regular content for this website and this is a nice way of promoting folks whose tracks I enjoyed listening to.
If you’re a fellow artist and would like me to review your work, please, by all means, feel free to send me a link to your track/album (preferably on Spotify or any other cost-free means of sharing your music with me) to reviews@badidol.de.
Playlist(s?)
I started a playlist, fairly quickly, as getting your songs on playlists is the most efficient and cheapest (as it’s usually for free) way of getting your songs noticed and as I’ve profitted a lot from that, I kinda wanted to give back. I would’ve never imagined this playlist growing so big but…well, it kinda did. Synth Haven by now has over 2000 likes/followers (there IS, however, heavy fluctuation as with any metric on any Social Media/Internet platform), 190 songs and a play time of 13hr 9min. Since I started the playlist in August 2022 it had over 300 submissions (combined, submission is possible via Daily Playlists or my own page), of which I’ve accepted around 140 and added a few tracks I stumbled upon and liked, myself.
It’s curated daily and I’m putting quite some effort into that. The playlist’s genre mix is Synthwave/Retrowave, Chilled EDM and “ePop”, it basically covers all the differend kinds of genres I myself usually dabble in. I am making it a point to not accept submissions that don’t fit into those genres, which is getting harder and harder each day, because I am getting a lot of submissions, which are actually quite good but simply don’t fit the genre.
I’m thinking about starting more playlists for different genres to accomodate those submissions.
