The “no snare”-challenge

As mentioned in my previous post, I’ve entered a “no snare”-challenge with my fellow producer colleague Nitefold. and to be honest…I’ve hit a snag. I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. I made a track, I do actually like it and think, it’s far too good to discard it but I absolutely failed the topic.

The topic we agreed on was:

And to be honest…it feels like I completely disregarded that topic from the very first key stroke when starting the track. I went with a soundscape made from a sample of a flowing river or stream and birds in the forest and from thereon in I took myself (and you, the listeners) on a serence, emotional, melodic journey. Which is all nice and good but…that was not the damn topic I actually set myself!

I might have to cede victory to Nitefold. there, before the challenge even really begins, because whatever he does, he’ll probably stay on topic.

I could of course just create a completely new one, though…nah, that wouldn’t really be fair, I guess.

But see for yourself and feel free to let me know in the comments, whether you think this fits the topic or not:
